Schoolcraft Film Challenge 2026

The Schoolcraft Film Challenge 2026 is a fast paced filmmaking competition hosted by Schoolcraft College that pushes teams to write, shoot, and edit an original short film in 48 hours. Beginning on Friday, June 5th at 7:00 PM and concluding on Sunday, June 7th at 7:00 PM, the challenge gives participants a limited window of time to bring their creative visions to life.

During the kickoff event streamed on YouTube, teams receive a required prop and a line of dialogue that must appear in their film, then they are set to release their creativity! Participants use any equipment, cast and crew, and their imagination to create a short film shorter than seven minutes.

After the competition’s time frame closes, there will be a public screening at VisTaTech Center where a panel of judges evaluates each film for creativity, storytelling, and effective use of the required elements.

Finishing off the event with the winners announced and given their prizes! The winning teams are announced at the screening, earning recognition for their skill, teamwork, and creativity.
